Le Rapporteur spécial sur la liberté de religion ou de conviction, Ahmed Shaheed, a publié un rapport sur l’islamophobie : "Lutte contre l'islamophobie/haine antimusulmane en vue d'éliminer la discrimination et l'intolérance fondées sur la religion ou les convictions."

Il y défend une conception très large de l'islamophobie, allant jusqu'à considérer l'interdiction du voile intégral par la France comme de l'islamophobie. Outre sa définition personnelle de ce concept, quelle est sa valeur en droit international ? Est-il pertinent de protéger certaines religions en tant que tel ou au contraire dangereux ?
