From Algeria to Strasbourg: Monique Yakout Khentache’s Story

Monique Yakout Khentache is a Christian, a convert from Islam, and a writer of Algerian origin. She currently lives in Strasbourg, France, and wrote two books about her spiritual and personal journey—from her Muslim upbringing in a village in Kabylie to her writing career today, including her conversion and her integration into French society.

The ECLJ is publishing this interview following Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Algeria and the release of our report on “The Oppression of Christians in Algeria,” available here on our website.
