To mark the release of the documentary "Lambert contre Lambert, au nom de Vincent" on the Disney+ platform, the ECLJ interviewed one of the key protagonists of this famous case: Jérôme Triomphe.
Alongside Jean Paillot, esq., he was the lawyer for Vincent Lambert's parents, who fought for more than six years to ensure that their son, would not be euthanized after he was left in a minimally conscious state following a serious car accident.
The ECLJ worked closely with Mr. Triomphe and Mr. Paillot during their appeals to the European Court of Human Rights in 2015 and 2019, and before the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2019.
In this video, we comment on the documentary, which has the merit of recounting the whole case from the human, medical and legal points of view, with a certain degree of fairness.
At a time when France is debating the legalization of euthanasia, this case is essential to understanding how promoters of euthanasia and assisted suicide can twist reality to the point of making those who defend a disabled person's right to food look like torturers.
