Clergy, diplomats, lawyers, jurists, and judges from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) gathered at the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ) on December 3, 2025, in collaboration with the Mathias Corvinus Collegium, to reflect together on the current challenges to religious freedom in Europe.
Numerous cases relating to religious issues are currently pending before the ECHR. These cases illustrate the contemporary challenges facing religious freedom in European societies, which are becoming increasingly religiously diverse. This was an opportunity to reflect on the difficulties inherent in this freedom.
