Prestigious Regent University Law School Program in Strasbourg

(Strasbourg, France)- Regent University, a Christian law school based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and one of the premier legal programs in the United States is holding its annual summer law program in Strasbourg, France until August 4. The ABA-approved program has been held in Strasbourg since 1998.

The programs success can be judged by its participants, with forty students representing not only Regent University, but also such esteemed schools as Duke, Baylor, Rutgers and Florida State University. This year’s summer program is also host to five Korean students from Handong Global University, a Christian university located in Pohang with a focus on international human rights.

Fully accredited courses in Comparative Law, International Human Rights, Civil Liberties and Legal History will be taught by distinguished American scholars at the University of Strasbourg (founded in 1538 and the location of the signing of the treaty creating the Council of Europe).

Former Attorney General of the United States John Ashcroft will also be instructing students in international human rights and national security issues. The program will also host several guest lecturers including senior counsels from the Slavic Centre for Law and Justice and Hans-Christian Krueger (former Secretary of the European Commission of Human Rights and Secretary General Adjunct of the Council of Europe).

The European Centre for Law and Justice, based in Strasbourg, and its President Jay Sekulow, will host several receptions for the program which will also include special guests from the international legal and political community such as Attorney General John Ashcroft, American Ambassador to the European Union C. Boyden Gray, Member of European Parliament Miroslav Mikolasik and former Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic Daniel Lipsic.
