This report, based on first-hand interviews, reveals the challenges that ex-Muslim European converts face when leaving their religion. All ex-Muslims suffer from their decision to leave Islam, but the difficulties they encounter vary significantly. While the majority face ostracization, some have also experienced violent assault. Even though Sharia Law is not enforced in Europe, the growing presence of important Muslim communities in major European cities poses a threat to the religious freedom of those seeking to leave Islam.
