Religious Rights in Turkey Under Discussion

Turkey today accused the EU of treating it unfairly by partially freezing membership talks. The debate is occurring as several cases of religious rights violations in Turkey are working their way through the European Court of Human Rights, supported by the European Centre of Law and Justice. Centre Representive Roger Kiska says that not enough attention is being paid by the EU to the status of religious freedom in Turkey... However it should be noted that in recent discussions concerning these issues, the Turkish government has taken several positive steps in religious minority reform.
